Proud Papa

"I, therefore, can anticipate for you many years of happiness and prosperity, and in my daily prayers to the God of mercy and truth I invoke His choicest blessings upon you." - Excerpt from a Letter from Robert E. Lee to his son dated 1867

I have received so many emails from well-wishers wanting to see a photo of Jackson, that I had no choice but to comply. Behold the littlest general :)

A fine looking young man! By the way, the good folks over at CWI referred to newborns as having a "boiled monkey look" - present comany excepted, of course. I wish I had thought of that line. I've always described all newborns as looking like Mr. Magoo. I remember when my son Zachary was born. This was just about the time (1981) when fathers were first allowed in the birthing room. After the Doctor had extracted the little fella from his previous address, he thrust his ugly, purple, dripping, wrinkled, squirming body in my face and exclaimed "Ain't he grand!?" I, feeling rather squeamish at that point replied dryly, "No, he ain't. He's very ugly. Please put him back where you got him from."

Thanks Richard… and yes, I know the feeling. The births of all 4 of my children were traumatic (to me) to say the least. All I can say is God blessed the women because if we men had to do that… we'd be an extinct species.

Michael,

Thanks for sharing the photo of the little guy.  :)

BTW, I sat with Mort Kunstler at the RT meeting Wednesday evening, and he sends his best regards.

Hope all is well.

Steve
